EVENT DISCRIPTIONS

NEW YEAR'S EVE

You don't want to miss out on our annual Chicken Drop at midnight with party favors and live music in the Barn!  Bring all your besties and share a toast with us to bring in the new year!  Also enjoy a firework display over the lake and other daily scheduled activities.

CHILDREN'S MARDI GRAS

Mardi Gras is a time for festivities, food and chasing chickens!  This weekend is geared for the kiddos to come out and enjoy the true sprit of a traditional Cajun Mardi Gras run (Lakeview style).  Get your kids involved making their own Mardi Gras costume with a mask and capuchon for the parade.  Bring decorations for your golf cart and running shoes for chasing those chickens.  We close out the afternoon with local live music!

MARDI GRAS

There's never a dull moment during the Mardi Gras season!  With lots to do around the surrounding area and also on park grounds, you'll need to schedule in time for a nap.  We have local, live music scheduled 4 consecutive nights with some of our most popular Cajun, Zydeco and Swamp Pop musicians in Louisiana! Along with a variety of park activities, we also host our annual boucherie the Monday before Mardi Gras.  This is an intimate moment when you can experience an old time Cajun tradition of butchering a pig and having different groups of individuals prepare a Cajun dish from the butchered meat.  We are also centrally located to the best Courir de Mardi Gras runs in the area!

EASTER

We have you and your family covered with all of your favorite Easter activities.  Enjoy an Easter egg hunt, arts & crafts and a visit from the big bunny himself!  Bring your camera because he also poses for pictures.

BOOT BREW FEST

If you love beer as much as we do, then this is a must on your bucket list!  This is Louisiana's first and only homebrew competition and festival.  All beer served on site is made from an amateur brewer.  Join us for some great tasting beer while visiting the brewers and learning about their techniques! More information at

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

With the beach open and the warmer weather upon us, spend this extended holiday weekend with us!  The swimming area will cool you off and the smell of BBQ cooking will have you racing back to your campsite for a delicious meal around the campfire.  Take a break from the beach and participate in one, or all of our many scheduled events throughout the weekend.

4TH OF JULY

Wear your favorite red, white and blue outfits this weekend!  You don't have to go far to enjoy live music on our beach bandstand, while cooling off with our refreshing Margaritas and Daiquiris from our nearby tiki hut.  We also have plenty of fun events scheduled to keep you entertained throughout your stay.  Fireworks over the lake are a must to complete your stay with us!

LABOR DAY

Don't let the school year creep up on you without one last hoorah on the beach!  With live music, swimming and beach activities, you'll wish there were a few more weeks of summer.  This 3 day weekend is a perfect time to get the family together for laughter and everlasting memories.

SAUCE PICANTE COOK-OFF

Check out this annual cooking event and become a part of what makes our culture so wonderful and delicious!  Registration forms and rules are available in our office for those who wish to compete for the best Sauce Picante in our area.  Samples will be available for guests to taste and vote on.  Compete with us this year at your chance to win a 1st through 3rd and People's Choice award and prizes!

HALLOWEEN

All weekends in October are dedicated to our spootacular Halloween events.  We are the perfect place to dress up the family for trick-or-treating with live music and a dance to follow.  Bring decorations for the camper and golf cart along with real pumpkins for carving.  For the more brave souls, jump in line for our scary haunted house with live actors and awesome props!  Other daily events for the kiddos are also available.

BLACK POT CAMP

This is truly a must see event for anyone interested in our Cajun / Creole culture!  This 4 day culture camp provides music, cooking and dance lessons along with other activities throughout the day and live music every night.  You'll meet folks from all around the nation and even some from out of the country.  For more info and videos check out their website at, http://blackpotcamp.com/

BEEF TONGUE COOK-OFF

Food is a large part of our culture, so what better way to show off your cooking skills than with a cook-off!  Register with our office and compete with some of the best amateur cooks in the area.  We have prizes for those who place 1st through 3rd in the competition, while visitors and guests can participate by sampling and casting their vote for our People's Choice award.

THANKSGIVING

This is a time for family and food and what better way of spending it than around a campfire with all your favorite peeps.  Our park grounds are a perfect place for small and large gatherings.  We can accommodate guests with campers and those without can enjoy a stay in one of our beautiful cottages.  Take advantage of our Pavilion (available on a first come basis), our Community Cottage or our Barn, both available for rent.
